Freedom of the Christian

Just like the Wheel of Life balance, it's even more important to focus and examine on where we are out of balance with a relationship with Jesus Christ.  True health is living according to our Father's design and will for us.  Galations 5 provides the guidance needed to  keep our souls balanced, and the sins that cause slow leaks or complete blowouts leading us to spiritual and mental ruin.

Galations 5 begins with "For freedom, Christ set us free.  Stand firm, then, and don't submit again to a yoke of slavery."  Galations provides us with God's directive for how to achieve true freedom in our lives.  Pay attention to verses 5:16 - 26.  How do we know we are living in freedom from slavery?  Are we experiencing agitation, anxiety, and restlessness in areas of our being?   The answer is stated in Galations 5:22 - 26.

"But the fruit of the â€‹Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control."

When we experience these virtues, we are living a healthy and grace-filled life.  Meditate of these virtues and examine yourself to understand if you are experiencing these virtues.  If not, why?

The flip side of the virtues that lead of to freedom are the sins that make us slaves.  Galations 5:19-21, "Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity, idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealosy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkeness,  carousing, and anything similar ..."

Are these vices creeping into our lives?  Examine these areas carefully, pray to the Father to remove them and get the help needed to remove impurities that hurt our souls.  These damage the fruits of the spirit and our overall health, and most importantly, our relationship with God and others.

If we want to live happy and free then live by the Spirit.
